Van 6 tot en met 8 maart verandert Quartair in een open atelier voor Van Damascus naar Den Haag. In samenwerking met Quartair, Culture Unlimited Foundation en het Rotterdam Arab Film Festival (RAFF) werken professionele kunstenaars en amateurs samen rond het thema Syrië aan één groeiende video-installatie. Filmbeelden uit en over Syrië worden geprojecteerd op doeken, waarop live wordt geschilderd. Tegelijk ontstaat er ter plekke muziek in een creatief lab: improvisatie, compositie en samenspel reageren direct op wat er in de ruimte gebeurt. Alles grijpt in elkaar: beeld, klank, handeling en moment.
Op zondag 8 maart presenteren ze het resultaat met de installatie, live muziek, poëzie en korte films. Een ontmoeting tussen herinnering, verbeelding en samenzijn.
From March 6th to 8th, Quartair will transform into an open studio with From Damascus to The Hague. In this video work, professional artists and amateurs will collaborate on a single, evolving video installation focusing on Syria. Film footage from and about Syria will be projected onto canvases, where live painting will take place. Simultaneously, music will be created on-site in a creative lab, through improvisation and interplay, responding to what’s emerging in the space.
On Sunday, March 8th, they will present the results of this experiment with an installation, live music, poetry, and short films. This event is a collaboration between the Culture Unlimited Foundation and the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival (RAFF), with support from Quartair – a meeting of memory, imagination, and togetherness.
